Catch Up

"...I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."
John 10:10b

Jonathan was so cute today. He put his ball (balls are his favorite) in Joshua's swing, turned on the lullabies, and said "shhhh". We laughed so hard!
He has also discovered pulling his sisters hair. He pulled out a handful this afternoon! Poor Julie. He is definitely a boy!

Julie got upset with me for saying "no" the other day. She said "Anything I want, every time I ask, all you ever say is 'No, no, no, no, no!' " Haha. I'm such a meany!
Yesterday, when I picked her up from Sonshine school, her teacher told me what a sweetheart she is. There was a new student that day, and Julie politely introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Julie. What's your name? Wanna come play with me?" The teacher said it was precious! I'm so proud of her manners.

Joshua is 2 months old today! I can't believe it's already been two months. He even smiled for the camera! He's been smiling a lot lately. It's such a joy!

Mike and I have an anniversary coming up this weekend! Feb 20th with be 6 years of marriage. I can't imagine my life without him! I've been in this "I just had a baby" frump phase for long enough. So I decided to get "prettied up" for the occasion, and headed off to the Salon yesterday. I'm hoping I can look "hot" for Mike this weekend when we go out our date!

Before (Decidedly Frumpy)
Now, wonder where we will be going for our little date??

Ok, crochet. The hexagons are multiplying, slowly but steadily. I believe they will soon be a bag!

More Hexagons
I can see the future!

There's this little boutique-ish store here in town. The owner told me to whip up a few projects and bring them up to be put on consignment! Yay! I'm super excited! Hope I can sell some stuff!

Cheerful Hexagons

h
I wanted to share this, because it makes me cheery! Hope it makes you cheery too! Don't know for sure exactly what it will be, yet. I'm leaning towards a bag! But Julie says it should be a flower pillow. Maybe I'll make both!

Love is in the Air

Valentines Bracelet, originally uploaded by MommyBownds.

I thought Julie should have a little something to wear on V-day. I think I'll make a few more for her little friends. Very cute, I think!

2 Projects Completed

Here's a little Bible bookmark I made for a friend. I used crochet fashion thread, for the first time, and used a motif from my new book. It was a little challenging, but fun!!

Here is the completed twirly swirly scarf, finally!! Worth the wait, I think!

On second thought....

Good morning, Saturday!

After seeing the "new" hexagon in all its glory yesterday, I have decided to "redesign" the blanket I started for Avery. I had the thoughts of hexagons and my new found "join as you go" skill dancing around in my head all night. So we'll be going from this...

To this...

Much better I'd say! Don't you think? I didn't lose too much time on those other (red headed step-child) hexagons, haha! I'm pretty sure this major life change will be worth it (o:

Thanks, once again, for the inspiration and hexagon how-to, Attic24.

2 New Motifs

My first triangle...from my new book

Hmmm......I've never been any good at geometry. But, if I make 12 of these little triangles and get to work on my joining skills, then I would have one big "patchwork" hex. Sounds fun! The brain stew is brewing. I'll let you know when the buzzer goes off!

Projects

Though it has been suggested by some, I choose not to start a crochet project, then finish it before starting another. I like to have a variety to choose from! Some days I just don't feel like working on a blanket, but a purse fits my mood. So, anyways...here are the few projects that I am currently working on!

These are my first hexagons. Eventually, they will evolve into a baby blanket for my new upcoming niece Avery, whose mommy chose pink and brown for her color scheme!

I fell in love with ripples, after admiring the creations of Lucy, at Attic 24. (Who, by the way, is also responsible for my curiosity and new admiration for hexagons). This is the beginnings of a super soft baby blanket for Joshua. My goal is simply to finish it before it gets too warm to use...and considering the high temp of 36 today, I'm confident I can accomplish that goal, Lord willing, of course. I just love these two colors together! You can't really tell in this picture, but the lighter color is actually more of a turquoise.

This is an envelope style makeup bag made from Granny Squares. Just need to add the liner and it will be absolutely complete!

One more row, and my twirly curly scarf will be ready to wear!

This was originally my "experiment ripple" , since I'd never tried it before. I think that I will make it useful though. May be an "Everything Bag" for baby Avery. We shall see!

Handbag in process. So far, this is my favorite of all the bags I have made. Just need to attach the liner and handles...

And hopefully, when it is done, it will look something like this!
